The Pillory of Public Opinion

I have many triumphs and many failures, most of which go unseen. Yes, I have had public accolades in the past, but have done much work without it. Some things have been private that I wish had been public and somethings have been made public that I would rather remain private.

Recently, I have made the largest mistake of my Second Life which has been made very public. I have no shortage of opinions offered and what kind of low, base human being this makes me.

I did not set out to be a public figure, but I seem to have found my place there, and so my mistakes are writ large for all of Caledon to see.

I am still the man I always was. I was always flawed. I never tried to hide my flaws. It was my inability to hide this flaw that has lead to the virtual flogging I have received.

If there is enough demand I will sit in stocks in public and you may all have at me and have it done with. I understand the need to express your anger at me, but I will be glad when it has passed.

Dude. It's not the mistake, it's the fact that in talking to you, and in the previous entry, you seem to be trying to take on some bullshit martyr status. You had a failing-- you wanted to get laid. Suck it up. People mess up, they move on. You just kept up your mistake. THAT is a huge issue.

Got to love people with the courage to criticise but not the courage to reveal their identities.

While I've only heard snippets of what you've apparently been accused of, this is just to let you know you're still welcome in my home.

My Lord and Lady Primbroke,

Sir Zen is a good and valued human being and avie. He's a generous, patient, kind man. He is still very much a member of Clan Kintyre.

He has made a mistake.

That mistake has caused something to break. Something very valuable and precious. It is called trust.
It isn't just the trust of one person that was broken, but the trust given to him by many. A vow he took in front of many close friends.

When you make a mistake, you own up to it. This, he has done. You also apologize and try to set it right. Speaking as one of the many, THIS is where he has fallen short.

Sorry, but no, it is not a "mistake." A mistake is a goof-up, a misunderstanding, an error due to misinformation, confusion or ignorance.

"The Mets were established in 1965." is a mistake.

You engaged in a pattern of deception. There's a difference.

Just sayin'.

I have known you longer than secondlife has even existed, and i have personal reasons why i am so very very pissed at you, I love you Zen, but I dont know when I can forgive you, not even for what you did to dar, but for how you talked to me before you admitted what you were doing. and i dont know that loving you is enough to fix that. I know you have been wondering why everyone is so mad at you, well there is part of why I am. You did to dar what was done to me in rl, and when i tried to talk to you about it before you came out with it, you treated me terribly, those things are why i am so very angry at you
